Today morning, the Executive Secretary of the African Union Advisory Board on Corruption (AUABC), paid a courtesy call on the Pan African Postal Union (PAPU). She met with the Secretary General, Mr. Sifundo Chief Moyo, who was accompanied by the Assistant Secretary General Mrs. Jessica Ssengooba.
Mr. Sifundo Chief Moyo emphasized the need for the two organizations to work together as continental bodies of the African Union. The Executive Secretary and her team were also briefed on the PAPU brief history since it's inception in 1980 and taken on a tour of the 17-storey Office building that is under construction in Arusha, Tanzania. Mr. Moyo also alluded to the need for an MoU between the two organizations as a means of ensuring a good working relationship.
The Executive Secretary welcomed the idea of an MoU observing that it will work well for the two bodies. She indicated that the AUABC is committed to involving PAPU in AUABC activities especially in areas of promotion of good governance and fighting corruption. Ms. Charity Nchimunya also congratulated PAPU on the construction of permanent offices for the Agency.
