During the visit, he led a delegation on a series of courtesy calls to senior leadership of the African Union Commission (AUC), including H.E. Selma Malika Haddadi, Deputy Chairperson of the AUC, and H.E. Ambassador Bankole Adeoye, Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace, and Security. Additional engagements were held with the AUC’s Legal Counsel, Director of Human Resources Management, and Director of Finance. The primary objective of these meetings was to foster stronger collaboration between the AUABC and the respective offices, officials, and embassies. Key discussions centered on enhancing partnerships and networks in the fight against corruption, particularly in addressing the significant financial losses Africa suffers due to Illicit Financial Flows (IFFs).

Another critical topic was the potential secondment of qualified personnel from willing Member States to bolster the AUABC’s operational efficiency and institutional capacity.

In closing, all parties reaffirmed their commitment to amplifying the impact of the upcoming African Anti-Corruption Day, observed annually on 11th July, under the banner #AfricaAgainstCorruption.
