      The Board elects from among its members a Bureau comprising of Chairperson, a Vice- Chairperson and a Rapporteur.

    • Working Groups

      The Working Group is mandated to providing the required assistance to AUABC’s work by coordinating and providing guidance on policy and programming issues pertaining to partnerships and resource mobilization

    • Secretariat

      The AUABC Secretariat is headed by the Executive Secretary.

      The mandate of the Board members is outlined in the AUCPCC

      The AUABC Board members are elected by Executive Council to serve for a period of two years renewable once.

    • List of previous members

      Once the term of the Hon. Board Members expires, the Executive Council elects new Board Members from the respective regions to replace them

  • What We Do

    The principal areas of promoting adoption and application of anti-corruption measures in the continent.

    Our Focus
    • AUCPCC

      The Member States of the African Union adopted the African Union Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption (The Convention) at the Second Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Union, held in Maputo (Mozambique), on 11th July 2003.

    • Status of Ratification

      Majority of the Member States have ratified and are State Parties to the Convention. Several other Member States have appended their signatures.

    • State Reporting

      The Board engages Member States to ascertain the status of implementation of the Convention and the measures taken to prevent and combat corruption.

    • Civil Society Organizations

      The Civil Society are to be fully engaged in the fight against corruption and related offences and the popularization of this Convention with the full participation
      of the Media and Civil Society at large;

    • Media Engagement

      The Media is a key player in the fight against Corruption.

    • Strategic Plan - 2018 to 2022

      The 2018-2022 Strategic Plan of the African Union Advisory Board on Corruption (AUABC) is a framework that provides guidance for the initiatives of the Board Members and the Secretariat towards the achievement of the Board's Short Term vision.

    • Advocacy

      The AU Advisory Board on Corruption main mandate is to promote and encourage the adoption of measures and actions by State Parties to the Convention to prevent, detect, punish and eradicate corruption and related offences in Africa

    • Documentation and Analysis

      The Board collects and documents information about the nature and scope of corruption and related offences in Africa; advise governments on how to deal with corruption and related offences

    • Annual Anti-Corruption Dialogue

      The Dialogue serves as a platform to develop policy briefs, strategies and recommendations that are submitted for consideration, adoption and implementation by the policy organs of the African Union and other relevant actors.
