The AUABC Rapporteur, the late Hon. Jean-Claude Bizimana has been interred today 21st March 2023 in Bujumbura, Burundi.
Hon. Bizimana died in Dar-es-Salaam after an illness on 13th March 2023 and his remains were repatriated on Friday 17th March 2023.
He leaves behind a wife, Mme. Jeanne Marie Huguette and four girl children.
Speaking at the burial proceedings earlier in the day, the AUABC Chairperson, Hon. Jean Louis Andriamifidy described the late Hon. Bizimana as a dynamic and distinguished leader in the fight against corruption. He went on to say he was an asset and that it was a joy to have worked with him.
The Chairperson concluded by reiterating his condolences, that of the entire AUABC and AU fraternity to the family and loved ones of the late Hon. Bizimana, the Government and the people of Burundi.
The Chairperson was accompanied by the Executive Secretary to the burial.
